Sport and therapeutic pools begin with the exact activity. World Aquatics competition rules govern certified aquatic-sport facilities; governing health requirements and the project water-quality standard apply alongside them.
Competition and training pools
Pool length, width, depth, lane arrangement, markings, starting equipment, timing interfaces, lighting and tolerances are coordinated as a certification package where competition approval is required. Water movement supports a stable racing surface while maintaining complete circulation. PWTAG gives a 3–4 hour turnover reference for 50 m competition pools and 30–90 minutes for teacher, learner and training pools.
Diving pools
Diving boards, platforms, clearances, water depth, surface agitation, underwater visibility and structural loads follow the applicable sports rules and certification process. Diving zones remain dedicated during use. Treatment inlets, outlets and lighting preserve the diver’s visual field and the required water surface.
Moveable floors and booms
The hydraulic design uses the most demanding configured depth and bathing load. Services, flexible connections, sensors and cleaning access work through every position. Interlocks, depth displays and operating procedures confirm each programmed configuration.
Hydrotherapy pools
The clinical or therapeutic brief establishes users, assistance, transfer, water temperature, session length, equipment, privacy and staff supervision. Warm water and concentrated loading drive the treatment calculation. Entries, hoists, handrails, benches and circulation space form one dignified accessible route.
Acceptance evidence
- Dimensional survey and sport-certification documents where required.
- Measured flow, dye test and surface-behaviour observation.
- Moveable-floor and equipment interlock testing.
- Accessible transfer demonstration with the operating team.
- Water and environmental performance during a representative session.
