Scope, Governance & Professional Responsibility

The MAZACURE governance standard for pool and wellness-water projects: scope, authority, coordination, documentation and design acceptance.

The MAZACURE Professional Pool & Wellness Standard · Digital First Edition

The MAZACURE ruleEvery water environment has one approved performance brief, one responsibility matrix and one controlled source of project information.

This chapter establishes the management structure for every MAZACURE pool and wellness-water project. It applies to owners, developers, architects, consultants, specialist designers, contractors, commissioning teams and operators.

Define the facility before designing it

The owner and lead consultant issue a performance brief at concept stage. It identifies each pool or thermal experience, its users, operating model, capacity, hours, temperature, supervision, accessibility, service level and intended atmosphere. It also records the governing authority, adopted codes and project-specific acceptance criteria.

Required brief inputs

  • Facility type, user groups and operating hours.
  • Maximum instantaneous and daily bathing loads.
  • Water temperature, depth profile and activity.
  • Water-quality, energy, water and environmental objectives.
  • Staffing, testing, cleaning and planned-care resources.
  • Project location, climate, utilities and discharge conditions.

Assign one owner to every decision

The responsibility matrix names the originator, coordinator, reviewer and approver for calculations, drawings, material selections, inspections, tests and operating documents. The lead consultant manages interfaces. The water specialist owns hydraulic and treatment performance. The architect owns spatial and material integration. Structural and MEP engineers own their connected systems. The contractor owns compliant execution. The commissioning lead proves performance. The operator maintains the approved operating envelope.

Apply the hierarchy of requirements

Governing law and authority requirements lead the project. Adopted standards, the approved client brief, this MAZACURE handbook, specialist calculations and manufacturer instructions then form the coordinated specification. The strictest applicable requirement is identified during design review and recorded in the basis of design.

Consultant deliverable: Issue a signed scope, facility schedule, responsibility matrix, design-input register and stage-approval schedule before technical design proceeds.
